“The Switch” by Beth O’Leary

If you are in need of a lighter read with a predictable, yet amusing story line, you will like this contemporary fiction book in which Leena, a 20-something in London, who is grieving for her sister, blows a big work assignment and is forced into a 2-month sabbatical and decides to switch residences with her 78-year-old grandmother Eileen who lives in a rural Yorkshire. While Eileen, newly divorced, looks for adventure and and love in London, she also finds a new circle of friends with Leena’s funny flatmates, even as Leena herself tries to heal her grief and mend a relationship with her mother, while surrounded by a chorus of quirky seniors that make “The Switch” a diverting story with a touch of romance, but more importantly, a lot of heart. 3 1/2 Stars (A good read)
